Job brief

We are seeking an organized and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our group and be in-charge of buying raw materials that are needed by the company. The responsibilities include looking for new/potential suppliers, communicating with existing suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms and prices, and preparing PO's, Invoices and Delivery Receipts. For this role, you should have good knowledge of purchasing processes and have good analytical skills to identify the most profitable offers.

Ultimately, you will be required to establish, maintain good relationships with key suppliers, serve as a representative of the company and ensure products purchased are of high quality and delivered on time.

Responsibilities    

-Look for/source potential suppliers

-Request quotes and compare prices for maximum ROI

-Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers

-Negotiate price and contract terms of agreement

-Track orders and ensure timely delivery

-Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases

-Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices

-Coordinate with warehouse staff on stock levels and place orders as needed

-Prepare PO's, Sales Invoices, Delivery Receipts and other documents as needed 

Requirements and skills

-Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchaser or similar role

-Good knowledge and understanding of supplier sourcing practices, processes, policy (researching, evaluating and liaising with suppliers)

-With or without experience with purchasing software

-Understanding of supply chain procedures

-Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts

-Good negotiation skills

-Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

-Accurate and precise attention to detail

-Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment

-Business Course Graduate or relevant field
